Job Description
The Materials Science Division at Argonne National Laboratory seeks to make a postdoctoral appointment for research in the area of thin films of quantum materials for microelectronics. The work will involve synthesis of novel crystalline materials using molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) and characterization and modeling using a variety of transport and optical techniques, in close collaboration with a team of both Argonne and university based scientists. The broad goals are to realize materials that have a tunable response in in THz regime an interconnect materials that function effectively in the ultrathin limit.
Position Requirements
We seek outstanding researchers with a strong background in experimental condensed mater physics and materials science. No prior knowledge of MBE is needed, though a familiarity with vacuum systems, transport measurements and/or optical characterization techniques is desirable. We seeks candidates with good communication skills, a keen interest in advancing the next generation of materials for microelectronics, and the ability to collaborate effectively.

Full timeThe expected hiring range for this position is $70,758.00-$117,925.00.Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as, but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, business considerations, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
