Job Description
Summary
The Research Assistant I will help manage research projects in the Division of Cardiothoracic surgery. The Research will focus on the translation of our gene therapies for heart failure.
Job Duties
• Performs responsible research work that involves preparing, conducting, planning, completing, and occasionally supervising limited research projects, following general plans approved by the supervisor.
• Designs and conducts research experiments involving human subjects and tissues.
• Collects, compiles, and analyzes data from research projects.
• Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for studies.
• Documents and interprets the results of experiments and reports to the principal investigator.
• Prepares IACUC and IRB protocols.
• Selects, evaluates, and determines appropriate research procedures.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
• Handling animals and perform cardiac surgeries.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in basic science or a related field.
