Job Summary
The Clinical Information Analyst Lead for the Michigan Structural Heart Consortium (MISHC) supervises activities related to data abstraction, monitoring, validation, analysis and reporting of clinical performance data collected for transcatheter valvular interventions, as well as education and training of consortium members.


MISHC is a collaboration between the BCBSM Cardiovascular Consortium (BMC2), and the Michigan Society of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons Quality Collaborative (MSTCVS-QC); this position is employed through BMC2. Learn more at www.mishc.org and www.bmc2.org.

Responsibilities*
Review, analyze and interpret data for participating MISHC hospitals to identify quality improvement opportunities and statewide goals
Conduct chart reviews at participating hospitals, working with nurses, physicians and other team members to improve their performance related to quality measures and data collection
Serve as the clinical subject matter expert in the coordinating center, assisting the coordinating center staff and data coordinators across Michigan with clinical issues and questions.
Provide education to MISHC coordinators on clinical aspects of data collection resulting in appropriate interpretation and collection of data variables
Collaborate with MISHC Leadership to prepare agendas and slide presentations for various MISHC workgroup, collaborative, and coordinator meetings
Collaborate with statisticians and programmers in defining data collection needs and distribution of quarterly reports to sites
Collaborate with MISHC Leadership to identify and lead the strategic direction of quality improvement
Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications*
5+years of experience working in a healthcare environment
Bachelor's degree in a recognized field of science or learning which is directly related to the duties of the position.
Cardiology experience, particularly cath lab
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Applicants must be willing to travel, primarily within Michigan, up to 10%
Desired Qualifications*
A degree in nursing or related field
Experience as a Structural Heart Coordinator
Experience with data analysis and reporting software tools
Experience participating in MISHC, BMC2 or other cardiovascular quality improvement efforts
Experience teaching and training others
