As a Physical Therapist, you willutilizevarious exercises to help patients increase strength, range of motion,enduranceand coordination.Because this position requires close interaction, you have the opportunity to build strong relationships with both patients and their families.Often, your patients are dealing with pain, so sensitivity is important.Ultimately, yourunconditional support and reassurance can drive them to work hard and regain their health.
This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working a day/evening rotation between 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. or 10:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. with weekend requirements.
The role requires flexibility in hours and locations, providing coverage for Weston outpatient PT clinics at Krupa and the YMCA, with potential coverage at Parkland.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.
Interpret plans and supervise patient treatmentsin accordance withthephysicianreferral, ensuring the care,safetyand wellbeing of the patient.
Review and evaluate the patient's response orlack thereoftotreatment.
Make recommendations to the physicianrelativeto the need to continue ordiscontinuephysical therapy treatment.
Provideappropriate documentationof eachpatient’svisitin accordance withdepartmental policies and procedures.
Be responsible forthe maintenance and care of all equipment and apparatus.
Be responsible forthe economical use of supplies,linensand utilities.
Provideappropriate billingfor each patient visitin accordance withdepartmental policies and procedures.
Assistin on-the-job training of all ancillary personnel.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s Degree or certificate
Graduate of a Physical Therapy Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association or a related international degree
Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
Internship experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Experience in an acute-care setting
Outpatient experience
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
