Position Description
Advertised Job Summary
The University of South Carolina Sumter is seeking a full-time Instructor of Biology (non-tenure track) position to begin August 16, 2026. A master’s degree in biology or related field with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in biology is required at the time of appointment. A strong commitment to undergraduate teaching is required. The successful candidate should be able to teach General Biology with Environmental Biology preferred on the Sumter campus and remotely. The teaching load will be twelve contact hours per semester. Student advising, mentoring and participation on campus committees are expected. Starting salary at least $45,000 per academic year.
Required Education and Experience
A master’s degree in biology or related field with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in biology is required at the time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
The successful candidate should be able to teach General Biology with Environmental Biology preferred.
