Job Summary
The Healthcare Sciences Pathways Coordinator manages day-to-day coordination of the Healthcare Sciences AS pathway program, serving as the primary connector between students interested in Health Science careers, SLCC Health Science programs and industry partners. This position coordinates program logistics and outreach, tracks and reports on program and grant performance data, supports proposal and grant reporting activity, and mentors student workers or peer navigators supporting the program. The Coordinator exercises independent judgment in setting outreach milestones and daily priorities within program goals set by the Associate Dean, and serves as the College's operational point of contact to industry and grant partners for this pathway.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities & Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Student Support & Guidance

Serve as primary point of contact for students in the Healthcare Science AS program or Health Science pathway.
Coordinate closely with faculty and administration to assist in management of the Healthcare Science AS program.
Regularly communicate with students via phone, e-mail, SMS (text messages), and in person to provide clear direction and ensure access to institutional support services.
Monitor students’ progress in completing prerequisite work, offering support and guidance to help them stay on track.
Matching Students with Institutional Resources
Serve as a personalized resource hub, connecting students with academic advisors, tutoring services, faculty, admissions counselors and other institutional resources as needed.
Connect students with institutional resources such as academic and career advising, tutoring, and career services to ensure they are adequately supported during their prerequisite coursework.
Facilitate introductions to financial aid officers, admissions counselors, and other departments to help students navigate the logistical aspects of enrollment and move forward along their chosen career and college pathways.
Work closely with admissions, advising, and academic departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination regarding student progress and readiness for program entry.
Program Collaboration
Work closely with admissions, advising, and academic departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination regarding student progress and readiness for application to selective admissions programs or enrollment in non-clinical concentrations.
Provide regular updates to Associate Dean, program coordinators, related dashboards, and other partners on student engagement, readiness and potential barriers to program entry.
Work with students who were unsuccessful in their first-choice program through Selective Admissions to prepare them to re-apply or redirect to other opportunities that may be a better fit, including non-clinical health careers.
Program Coordination
Coordinate day-to-day operations of the Healthcare Sciences AS pathway program, including scheduling, outreach planning, and logistics for student cohorts.
Establish own outreach milestones and priorities in alignment with program goals set by the Associate Dean; exercise independent judgment to resolve routine to moderately complex program issues.
Partner & Grant Relationship Management
Serve as the College's primary operational point of contact for industry and grant partners connected to this pathway, including sponsored-student and up-skilling initiatives.
Support development and submission of grant proposals and reports; monitor program activity against grant deliverables and timelines.
Prepare and present regular data updates and dashboards to the Associate Dean, program partners, and funders on student engagement, program outcomes, and barriers to entry.
Mentoring
Mentor and provide day-to-day guidance to student workers or peer navigators supporting the pathway program.

Ability to address faculty, staff, partner, and student issues in a positive manner at the department or division level and in collaboration with other college departments, divisions, and administrators.

Strong understanding of health science admission processes, pre-requisite requirements and student support services.
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
Minimum qualifications
Bachelor's degree in education, health sciences, business administration, or a related field.
One (1) to three (3) years full time (or part time equivalent) work in healthcare or related field.
Knowledge of health care industry, workforce trends and upskilling pathways.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in education, health sciences, business administration, or a related field.
Experience developing or reporting on grant-funded programs.
Experience with program management, digital communications and marketing, student advising, or career coaching.
Experience in higher education, educational counseling, workforce development or related role.
