Job Description
Summary
The Research Technician I will support and perform research studies related to the Sarcoma Patient-derived Tumor Xenograft (PDX)Laboratory. Research techniques will focus on molecular biology (e.g. tissue processing, nucleic acid extraction, tissue culture) and in vivo experiments using PDX models.
Job Duties
- Prepares and conducts laboratory experiments independently.
- Maintains necessary inventory of supplies and reagents required for experiments.
- Maintains lab databases.
- Accurately document experiments to ensure that work can be replicated by others. Collect, analyze, compile, interpret and evaluate research results and report progress to PI.
- Executes a range of basic research techniques which include processing of human and mouse tissues, maintenance of tissue culture, administration of cancer therapies and monitoring of adverse effects in mouse model.
- Maintains a detail registry of tumor specimens in the PDX laboratory and oversees distribution to keep an adequate supply.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Two years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Graph-Pad software.
- Must be fluent in verbal and written English.
- Goal-oriented mindset ,proactive, engaged, and take initiative in all work-related tasks
Work Authorization Requirement:
